Thank you for visiting my MEDIA site; and, for listening to my shows.
Opinions Expressed on Shows
Opinions expressed are those of the person expressing them. They are not necessarily those of SouthLaSalleMedia.com, nor of the organizations they are part of.
Guests and Hosts are urged to express their political opinions in other venues, as no one is listening to SouthLaSalleMedia.com to hear political opinions. Similarly, political opinions are not encouraged in the comments either.
Hosts and guests are not constrained to air their opinions. However, it is important to follow the dictum: compliment people, criticize technology — not vice versa. There must be a logic to criticism, and that reasoning must be expressed on air. The other criticism dictum is: be specific.
Criticism of technology is part and parcel of discussions. Libel is not. If you do not have substantive, tangible reasoning and research to back up your specific criticisms, then do not voice your criticism.
All shows will have published Show Notes. All hosts are responsible for providing all URL’s mentioned in their shows in these Show Notes. Such URL’s are especially important when criticisms are voiced.
Ad Hominen attacks on-air and in the comments will not be tolerated. A sure way for your show and comments to never see the light of day is to attack someone.
I am, or my designate, is the sole arbiter of what constitutes Ad Hominen attacks, and other inappropriate content. Generally, if you have to ask if your content violates my dictums, then it has!
Production of Shows
All shows and content are free. If you use any of my content, all I ask is attribution. Please link back to my site, preferably to the show page. Also, please name the host of the show.
In general, each show is recorded the day before podcasting. Podcasts are published the next day at 1:00pm Eastern Time (that’s the plan at least).
Hosts record their own shows and submit their show’s MP3 to Bob Bloom for publishing. Hosts submit their raw MP3 without any editing.
Although shows are pre-recorded, the recordings will be left untouched as much as possible. So please be careful what is said during your show’s recording as it will not be edited out in post-production.
Each show’s opening and closing segments are added to the show in post-production. Segments may be added to each show in post-production. Although the intention is to leave the show alone as to not ruin the integrity of the show. However, SouthLaSalleMedia.com is a for-profit site and advertising will be inserted into shows.
Hosts may not publish nor podcast any show’s Show Notes, MP3, or any other content associated with their shows they produce for SouthLaSalleMedia.com, in whole or in part. Hosts are doing shows for SouthLaSalleMedia.com. Those shows are not to appear anywhere but in SouthLaSalleMedia.com. This is a basic premise of co-hosting. There are absolutely no exceptions, and no exceptions will be granted.
Guests are invited to have their profiles published. These profiles are permanent content on this site. All shows the guest appears in will be listed in their profile.
Guests are encouraged to submit updates of their profiles at any time as their information changes.
Pictures of guests are taken from Gravatar.com.
Guest’s and co-host’s email addresses may be added to an email list, whose purpose is to send information about this site from time to time. Email addresses will not be given or sold to third parties.
Fees paid in Canadian dollars.
Fees paid in advance.
If the show you sponsored is cancelled, then your sponsorship will be rescheduled.
Refunds — and The New-ness of My Site
Fees are non-refundable.
Yes, I know, there’s no such thing as a non-refundable policy. Which means that refunds are at my discretion.
My arms are folded, my brows are furrowed, and I’m giving you The Look. There has to be A Pretty Good Case why a refund is needed.
My site is new. Many of my shows are new. Publishing in iTunes is new. I’m stretching my WordPress theme. You know it. I know it. Things will mess up, and I’ll fix it. I will even blog about refinements initiated by my wonderful sponsors. I’m not going to issue a refund because a bug was discovered in my sponsor page code (as an example).
Things are new… which is a Big Reason why my fees are so low.
Not only is my site new, but the way I’m approaching sponsorship/advertising is different. Some people will never visit my site — how will they know about your sponsorship? For those that visit my site, how will they discover you? How do I design my site so that my growing audience in the months and years to come discover you?
With 34 podcasts on my site from last year, a bunch of new podcast published this year — including episode 30 of TBBS which goes into my going for-profit in detail — plus segregated articles on advertising/sponsorship, I’m pretty open to what I’m doing.
If you don’t like paying in advance; if you don’t like the newness of my site; if you thirst for a zillion hits to your website; if you need conventional advertising; if you don’t like my attitude or my shows — well, then, we’re not a match.
Do not have the attitude that “you’ll see how it goes”; and, if you are dis-satisfied with “how it goes”, then harass me for a refund and file a complaint with PayPal.
Honestly, save us all the grief, put your energies to good use, put together a 20 minute video about your company/product/services, then sponsor some transcriptions — my “entry level” sponsorship. That gives you a sponsor profile (you think podcasting sites offer sponsor profile pages as a matter of course? Think again!) which should link to your landing page with your video. Be a transcription sponsor bi-weekly for one of my weekly shows — that will provide a nice presence on my site, and a series of quick shout-outs in my podcasts.
