For anyone who needs HST/PST/GST for Tienda now, we can do it manually until I have the package done.

I'll be working through the upcoming long weekend on it, and should have my Canadian Edition of Tienda out next week.

It will be available via subscription -- I have to finish that up first!

I want to finish up the Canada Post shipping plugin next. I need a Feature Sponsor for this, as well as a beta tester.

On May 13th, I received a notification from the Tienda project site for "Feature #2807: Canada Post shipping plugin" (http://projects.dioscouri.com/issues/2807 -- registration required) about its status. They are targeting its inclusion into Tienda for version 0.7.5 (we're at 0.7.2). However, I quote: "OK. I'll just leave this as is for now. I have a user possibly interested in helping to sponsor the completion of this."

So there's nothing different in my seeking a Feature Sponsor for this than what the Tienda project is doing. Except that, as Canadians, we must take this upon ourselves to finish and maintain.

My new Tienda-Nooku site is <a href="http://southlasallecommerce.com" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">SouthLaSalleCOMMERCE.com</a>.

I came across your blog here and wondered if you had an expected release date on your canadian version of Tienda. This looks like an exciting project and i look forward to it.

Mike,

Good point!

This is my first new Round Table show, so I did introductory stuff.

We got to it quickly on our April 22nd shows (at the time of writing, not yet published), with the introductions under our belt.

Glad you mentioned version control systems at the end there, because it sounds like that's what you really need in this case. Having sites with known security holes sounds and not doing anything about them, can be more damaging to you than putting in extra hours to keep Virtuemart updated. So doing manual upgrades really sounds like the lesser of the two evils, in particular if you can get some sort of payment for doing it.

Bob, you really hit the nail on the head with this Podcast. 2010 was an interesting year for a lot of us but I certainly feel the winds of change in the groups I chat with. 2011 has already been a much more focused year. Seems like everyone is doing a little "Cutting the Crap"
