Welcome to the LaSalleMart Hangout podcast — special edition
Today is Thursday, January 19th, 2012.
My name is Bob Bloom, from Toronto, Canada.
Earlier today, we recorded our inaugural LaSalleMart Hangout podcast.
It was rough, we had technical difficulties. We hit our stride in the second half of our hour long podcast. Must listening, as those on the inside supporting Club Commerce and LaSalleMart share their thoughts.
Before I publish our first Hangout, background is needed. There’s a philosophy behind my Club Commerce and LaSalleMart.
The Joomla world needs another conventional ecommerce cart like a hole in the head. LaSalleMart is marching to a different drummer.
The seeds of LaSalleMart were planted some time ago, when I really think about it, when a developer of a Joomla ecommerce cart extension replied to my complaint with “fuck you, it’s free! You don’t like it, you change it”.
Sure, I was pissed. But it’s good advice.
LaSalleMart is not created by developers.
LaSalleMart is not for developers.
LaSalleMart is not a creature designed to make money for developers.
LaSalleMart is not designed to make developers rich.
Right back at ya!
LaSalleMart is technology created by consultants and site owners, for consultants and site owners, to make consultants and site owners money.
LaSalleMart is a response, and even a rebellion, by non-developers, to the lack of connection to the technology that is required to prosper in this brutal economy.
It’s open source. It’s GPL. We can change it. Good advice.
So, what’s the quick rendition on LaSalleMart and Club Commerce? Listen to the rest of this podcast!
